AN ORCHESTRATION OF SOUND AND FORM.
MATTE took over Brooklyn’s Knockdown Center for two days to host our tentpole experience, MATTE Black, providing guests with another unforgettable synthesis of underground music and contemporary installation art.
DJ PERFORMANCES
MATTE brought together a number of DJs including Peggy Gou, Marcel Dettmann, Heron Preston, AceMoma, Tammy Lakkis, Paurro, Hank Korsan and Amelia Holt.
VISUAL ARTISTS
404.ZERO (RU), Iván Navarro (CL), Jacolby Satterwhite (US), and Benjamin Gordon (AU) – four artists from diverging global socio-political contexts united in their interrogation of our material world through new media, technologies and algorithms. Shifts in scale, surface and experience offered new doors for perception.
BENJAMIN GORDON LIVE PERFORMANCE
On the event’s second day, Benjamin Gordon delivered a live set consisting of feedback loops that collapses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and ancient iconography displayed on an overhead LED screen.
