
The Hublot team entrusted MATTE to help execute an exclusive event to celebrate Takashi Murakami's fourth joint artistic project with the brand: the launch of thirteen new NFTs and thirteen unique timepieces.
MATTE provided creative direction as well as production for the high-profile evening taking place at the Glass House in New York on February 2nd.
The New York City skyline served as the backdrop for the reveal moment, debuting the 13th watch of the collection as well as his latest painted + animated works.
Guests enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres catered by Olivier Cheng while sipping champagne alongside the artist himself and a swath of influencers, clients and press.

Approach
Bringing to life both the iconic craftsmanship and unconventional nature of the brand, as well as Murakami’s modern style and creative spirit, we exhibited these works in a manner that is engaging, unique and pushes the boundaries of the gallery format.

Arrival
Upon arrival, guests were presented with an artful combination of Murakami's signature shapes and colors, paired with the iconic Hublot logo in eye-catching photo vignette for guests to pose in front of. A galley-style text projection served as an introduction to the NFT collaboration between Hublot and Murakami.

Reveal
We created a dramatic reveal by covering the main watch display with a false walls that hid the watch within the glass case. At the appropriate moment, the false walls dropped to unveil the watch while spotlighting the plinth to draw attention to the watch.

NFT Displays
We celebrated the vibrant color palette of Murakami's art and the skilled craftsmanship of Hublot by creating a space where color comes to life through light and form. To do this, we displayed Hublot's NFT collection on hanging digital screens, which merged the digital and physical realms as well as highlighted the bold hues of Murakami's work
