FASHION SHOW "SALON 3"
MATTE had the privilege of capturing Bottega Veneta’s first fashion show in Detroit titled “Salon 03”. Housed inside the Michigan Building, guests gathered around a boxing ring inspired stage as models walked out to an original score by Moodyman.


Runway Capture
In 2019, Dolce & Gabbana took over New York with a series of three disruptive high-end shows: Alta Gioielleria, Alta Roma, and Alta Sartoria. These groundbreaking runway shows were showcased at three icons of Manhattan: the Public Library, the Rainbow Room, and the Metropolitan Opera, each providing a unique canvas for a fashion show.
Tapping MATTE, D&G sought an equally creative partner who could bring both the logistical ability to shoot the full events from six angles in these unconventional spaces, and the innovative thinking to tell a cinematic story of the grandeur of each unique event. Our collaborations elicited three sleek films and a gallery of still photography that documented this landmark in Dolce & Gabbana’s history with the city of New York.

Runway Capture
Rihanna looked to the X Games and the spirit of motocross to inspire her FENTY x PUMA SS18 collection.
MATTE captured the groundbreaking show with a 10-camera setup covering the theatre-in-the-round set from every angle.
Cameras mounted on bikes doing 360 flips took viewers 50 feet into the air, while a drone and Wire Cam soared overhead for aerial coverage. We then did a 24-hour edit turnaround of the show film, alongside deliverable for the newly launched Fenty Beauty and runway partner Dyson.

Runway Capture
To celebrate Savage X Fenty’s first ever NYFW show, MATTE created an immersive series of films that brings viewers into the world of the Savages. We combined the use of stationed cameras, overhead wire cameras, and videographers to cover all angles of the show; no detail of the ever-changing runway was missed.
The powerful show was live-streamed to Rihanna’s Youtube and Savage X web channels, relying on our live-stream director to capture key shots and compositions of the Savage collection.

For their Spring/Summer 2018 show, Tom Ford took over the Park Avenue Armory, transforming the historic building into a lavish plush pink affair.
The esteemed designer drew a star-studded crowd, including Cindy Crawford, Kim Kardashian West, Chaka Khan, Ansel Elgort and Naomi Campbell who frowed the show.

Fragrance Launch
For the global launch of Baz Luhrmann’s Chanel No. 5 campaign, LEGS called upon MATTE to direct and produce a film that captured the premiere in all its splendor.
MATTE delivered a cinematic video from singer-songwriter Lo Fang’s live-performance of “You’re The One That I Want,” linked together with ambient footage of the event.

MATTE’s relationship with Cartier exemplifies our strength in providing strategic and branded content, live event coverage, and fast social deliverables.
MATTE developed the social strategy and content for Cartier’s "Bold and Fearless" event in San Francisco—providing on-site asset management, live coverage, & a master recap film through a mixture of drone, cinematic and b-roll footage, with a 24-hour turnaround.

MATTE has worked with Coach for runway capture across three seasons, including the brand’s 75th Anniversary show, whereby MATTE brought our signature cinematic approach to runway show coverage in collaborations with Coach. Responding to each season’s daring set design and strong creative directions, MATTE’s charge was to create films with a proportional penchant for creative storytelling.


RUNWAY CAPTURE
After a successful partnership, MATTE was tapped by Coach to capture their FW17 Show. Continuing his affinity with Americana, creative director Stuart Vever’s invited guests into his interpretation of badlands America: A dirt runway lined with dessert grass, littered with tumbleweeds.
To fully capture the magnitude of the show and the set, MATTE deployed wire cams which took beautiful panoramas and 360 views of the collection.

Our coverage was balanced between production units that focused on creative, cinematic video coverage before the show and backstage, as well as the multi-camera fundamental angles of the show itself. The result was a comprehensive and modern approach to capturing the runway show.

PRIDE 2017
Alexander Wang and Trojan joined forces at this years’ annual Pride festival in New York City to create Wang’s first pride float.
MATTE was enlisted to realize their vision — a black tubular float complete with a stripper pole and DJ booth, branded with #protectyourwang and #wangfest — and capturing the festivities and Alexander Wang himself as he lead the float of dancing volunteers.

RUNWAY CAPTURE
For the reveal of his Spring 2018 Collection, Alexander Wang turned a dead-end street in Bushwick, Brooklyn into a wild #WangFest runway. MATTE was brought on to concept and execute live event capture, delivering a full-recap edit and social media cuts, all within 24 hours of the event.
MATTE also produced a surveillance-style live stream chronicling the entire event across three pop-up runway locations. Overlaying live effects and responsive graphics, the footage was transformed into an immersive experience. Over 80K live viewers could select through multiple camera views and vantage points to virtually attend the Fashion Week takeover.

FILM CAPTURE
MATTE partnered with Alexander Wang to showcase the new Pre-Fall 2018 Collection through a short film that investigates a stark yet hazy fantasy.
The film highlights notions of black and white that have become synonymous with the avant-garde brands minimalistic ensembles.
